A Telegram bot running since 2021 — Python first, Rust since 2023.
Started in September 2021 in Python with aiogram, and rewritten in Rust in August 2023. It has grown up alongside the day job: whatever practice I had just learned properly tended to land here first, where the only person I could break things for was myself. The rewrite is easy to measure — around 20,000 daily active users, and the process still sits near 1% CPU. It exposes Prometheus metrics, so that is a number I watch rather than one I estimate.
